Lionsgate Play Charts Bold New Course with Cinema-First Strategy Across Asia
Lionsgate Play has announced a significant strategic shift, introducing a cinema-first distribution approach for premium Hollywood content across India and broader Asia. The streaming service, which reaches over 40 million viewers in India, will premiere 10 to 12 major films in cinemas before making them available on its service, beginning in September 2026. The slate comprises titles starring Russell Crowe, Gerard Butler, Robert Pattinson, and Mark Wahlberg.
